[ALMANACH]. [Collection of tunes to be sung]. S.l., 1783. - In-32 oblong, 35 x 69 : (19 ff.). Red morocco, boards decorated with a central medallion representing a temple of love surmounted by two flaming hearts with two doves crowning them, within a frame of gilt foliage and fillets, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges, red morocco slipcase decorated on the boards with a frame identical to the one of the binding and in the centre with a gilt motif representing a love shooting an arrow at a winged heart (binding and case of the period). Small and pleasant almanac, or pocket calendar, proposing 12 printed airs to sing and a calendar for 1783 entirely engraved, each month including a vignette representing the said airs. The latter are respectively titled: The Jealous Portuguese, The Young Greek, The Submissive Russian, The Constant Spanish, The French Knight, The New Heloise, The Roman Modern, The German Beauty, The Lappish Gaillard, The Cunning Swede, The Loving Sarmante and The Demanding Englishwoman. Copy in a pleasant gallant binding, complete with its original case. Some slight wear to the case. White endpapers renewed, spine detached from the binding. Perforation to one leaf of the calendar (November-December), with small damage to the text.
