France, Alsace, 1827-1834, Italian style album in-12, [54] ff. with autographs, drawings or engravings pasted on, between which are interspersed several blank leaves . Bound in havana calf, large cold plate on the boards in a gilt border, and the inscription in the centre of the first board "a l'amitié", smooth spine decorated and titled in the same way, inner gilt border, gilt edges. Nice little Album amicorum linked to Alsace. The young man for whom this album amicorum was composed was a native of Molsheim (Bas-Rhin) which he seems to have left in 1827 leaving many regrets. He would be of the D'Aubréville family (a Bigault d'Aubréville family is attested in the East of France). In 1828 he was in Montmirail where he also received many testimonies of friendship. Some lines are written in Italian, others in English, a testimony of friendship is dated New York on May 13, 1830. Several pencil drawings represent views of ancient Rome.
