VIZAGAPATAM BOX. Wood, tortoiseshell, ivory, polychrome, silver nails. Vizagapatam is a port on the east coast of India, where a number of decorative objects were produced from the 18th century onwards, mostly for the foreign market or as gifts, as can be seen from the many inscriptions on such boxes.
