H_18 cm W_32 cm D_21.5 cm Persian box inlaid with micro-mosaic known as khatam kari, a traditional technique of very fine geometric marquetry using a system of beams. These are cut and glued before being applied to the decorated objects (small old restorations in painted plaster, small lifting) Provenance: English art market.
