A related, somewhat varied and larger version to the present painting was in the Clavé-Bouhaben auction in Cologne in 1904 and found itself on the Berlin art market in 1938 (illustrated in Die Weltkunst, 18.12.1938, p. 4). Another version, reproducing only the central central group, was sold at Christie's, London in 2019 from the estate of Betty Lady Grantchester (4.12.2019, lot 109)., 95 x 125 cm
