Portrait of Emperor Alexander III (1845-1894).
Pencil drawing on paper unsigned but located in the upper right corner by the artist "P. Stockholm" and dated 1888, preserved in its original giltwood frame, decorated with palmettes at each corner. Good condition.

Provenance: this painting comes from the former collection of Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia (1847-1928). It was in the tsarina's bedroom in Hvidor, her residence in exile near Copenhagen, as can be seen in the picture on the right. It was later inherited by her daughter, Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia (1885-1960).
