Opening from the top, resting on a base decorated with stars and crescents in part gilded, this elegant orientalist chest has openwork fittings with palmettes inscribed in fleurons. The lock entrance as well as the handle supports are also in openwork brass. The front is decorated with a large carved pattern of interlacing and geometric motifs inspired by the medieval art of the Maghreb.
