Davenport writing desk in burr walnut veneer, light and blackened wood fillets, stained wood, maple. The upper part is composed of a step with a doucine partly surrounded by a gilt bronze gallery revealing compartments for letters and ink. The sloping flap reveals four drawers. The lower part opens with four lateral drawers on the right and four false drawers on the left. The piece of furniture rests on ceramic casters. England, second half of the 19th century.
