Foot of furniture in the shape of a standing Bes god. He is represented sticking out his tongue and biting two flutes that he holds in his two hands. His beige-orange body is studded with large and small alternating black dots. The head, hands and legs are painted in black. Cedar wood ? stuccoed and polychromed. H.: 70 cm. Wear and chips to the paint and right foot missing. Made of two pieces of wood. Provenance: Former Germain W. collection acquired between 1935 and 1940. A copy of the same size, having lost its polychromy, is kept in Houston. Four others are kept in the Royal Museums of Art and History of Brussels E07416a and E07415a.
