Description

The Office of Holy Week, Latin-French, according to the use of Rome, and according to the new breviary and the new missal of Paris, with reflections on each day of the fortnight. Paris, Claude Hérissant, 1771. 1 vol. in-12. Green morocco with period lace with crowns at the corners, red morocco mosaic coat of arms gilt in the centre of the boards, crowned numeral in spandrels, smooth spine with ornamented faux-nerve, red morocco title-piece. First edition. >Copy of Hyacinthe-Charlotte-Julie-Marie-Jeanne de la Briffe, marquise of Des Montiers de Mérinville. It is amusing to note that O. H. R does not identify the figure formed by the capital letter U with flowers, surmounted by a ducal crown. This figure is nevertheless represented on plate 562. It is associated with other coats of arms. O. H. R, pl. 605. Slight rubbing to the covers, wear to the corners.
