Tsuguharu FOUJITA Foujita has always been fascinated by the Flemish floral painting of the 17th century and especially by the leader of this movement Ambrosius Bosschaert (1573-1621)
His bouquets were painted symmetrically and with scientific precision in small dimensions and usually on copper. They sometimes included symbolic and religious meanings.
Foujita's delicate execution and treatment of the palette used in his bouquets of flowers is similar to that of the Flemish artist.
