Oil/canvas. A small mountain hut on a lake is framed by high rocky mountains. In the background rises the Swiss Bristen. Two tall, dark trees at the right edge of the picture, as well as the overall very dark foreground, take on the function of a repoussoire, which enhances the depth effect of the picture. Monogrammed and dated "F. v. Z. 87" at lower left. Old tape on verso. Craquelure, min. f.a., old residue, otherwise good condition.
