Oil/copper. In the foreground several mounted soldiers interrogate a man. At the right edge an antique portal protrudes into the picture background. The cavalry follows a multi-horse carriage, which can be seen in the middle ground. In the background, an Ottoman city rises behind a city wall. Breydel, called Le Chevalier, was a Flemish painter of battles and cavalry and followed the example of Adam Frans van der Meulen, the leading Flemish painter of battles of the 17th century.
