Louis-Albert Fernique (1870-1928, dit Fernique fils)

Chairs, Winter Palace (Beaumont Palace), Pau, ca. 1895 Large albumen print, 393x483 mm, names of the architect and photographer in the negative. Emile Bertrand architect. Isidore Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire organised a public competition for the Jardin d'Acclimatation, which was won by the architect Emile Bertrand in May 1890. Born in the Aude region, he had already built official buildings in the Roussillon region, before distinguishing himself in the development of the Beaumont Palace in Pau. At 34, he established himself as a master of modern elegance with the Winter Palace.
