Biedermeier armchair. South German. Around 1820/1825. Cherry, lacquer polished and maple, inlaid. Side frame construction, trapezoidal seat over slightly curved square legs. Slightly outward curved, upholstered backrest. Sloping shoulder board, the armrests each with a scroll-shaped rolled finish. Backrest board with inlaid arabesque decoration. Frame, frame and backrest board with accentuating thread inlays. Upholstery with straps and seaweed or horsehair filling, fabric cover. Joints partly slightly open. Partially with traces of inactive pest infestation. Veneered with individual drying cracks. Slight signs of use. Dimensions: h. 92 cm, w. 57 cm, d. 53 cm, seat height 47 cm.
