Viennese portal clock with fountain automaton, music box and date display. Around 1830. Wood, ebonized, alabaster, mother-of-pearl, brass and aluminum, partially gilded, glass. Architectural body with a round-arched niche flanked by one column each, cranked base on five wooden disc feet. The niche with a fish head with a rotating glass rod in its mouth, the end of the glass rod ending in a shell-shaped bowl, the latter with remnants of gilding. Symmetrically arranged floral mother-of-pearl applications. The upper finish with segmental arched pediment, crowned by an alabaster bust of Clemens Wenzel Prince of Metternich-Winneburg (1773-1859). Enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals and day indicator in the current month behind an original clock glass. One-day movement with half-hour strike on a clay spring and lever escapement. Movement with two melodies alternating by the hour. Automaton for the movement of the glass rod as well as the movement in a separate mainspring barrel. Short pendulum with thread suspension. With three keys. Operational. With isolated, small traces of use. Movement of the winding stem with restored breakout (sleeves replaced). Watch glass with scattered scratches.
