One paperweight with bubbles arranged in a square. On the underside in each case incised monogrammed "VP" and dated. One paperweight with a small chip on the stand, the other paperweight with tiny scratches on the stand. Dimensions: D. 8 cm / D. 9 cm. Volkhard Precht 1930 Lauscha - 2006 ebenda German art glassblower, glass designer and glass artist. 1945-48 Apprenticeship as an art glassblower. 1948-51 Guest studies at the technical school for ceramics and toy design Sonneberg, area of glass design. 1952 examination for master craftsman's diploma. 1959 Takeover of Ernst Precht's father's workshop. 1962 Recognition as "creative artist in the craft". 1963 Inventor of the first studio glass furnace in Europe. From 1966 full member of the VBK of the GDR, from 1991 member of the BBK Thüringen e.V. 1974 and 1977 winner of the Max Reger Art Prize (Suhl district), 1979 winner of the Art Prize of the GDR. Participation in numerous exhibitions as well as preservation of works in collections and museums, among others the Museum of Glass Art Lauscha and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Pillnitz.
