Colourless glass with green and white coloured glass painting between the layers. Pressed, bulbous form with indented, round opening. Base with flat break. Signed "Oelzner" and dated on the underside. Isolated, small scratches on the underside and on the wall. In the area of the opening a narrow, circular, dull area. Measures: H. 11,5 cm. Ulrike & Thomas Oelzner 1939 Steinach/Thuringia and Leipzig respectively - 2012 Lichtenfels 1939 Birth of Ulrike Oelzner in Steinach/Thuringia, in the same year birth of Thomas Oelzner in Leipzig. 1958-60 Ulrike's apprenticeship as a goldsmith in Zwickau, 1957-59 Thomas'' apprenticeship as a goldsmith with Alfred Schäfer, working there as a journeyman until 1960. 1960-65 joint studies at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle in the subjects jewellery, metal, enamel and sculpture, graduating with a diploma as an artist and designer. 1965 foundation of the joint studio in Leipzig. From 1968 membership in the VBK. 1981 Art award of the city of Leipzig. As of 1980, participation in the organization of and participation in various glass symposia in Lauscha, Frauenau and Novy Bor. From 1988 Thomas Oelzner lectures as an art historian at the University of Leipzig. 2008 Move to Franconia. 2012 year of Ulrike Oelzner's death.
