Heidi Manthey 1929 Leipzig Hedwig Bollhagen1907 Hannover - 2001 Marwitz near Berlin Faience, light-coloured body, white glazed and painted with polychrome underglaze. The wall of one cup with three yellow flowers and a black bird. The other cup has a crackled background with two white flowers on it, connected by a filigree band with leaf painting. Form "Becher 597", decor "444". Underneath each with brush mark "HB" in underglazed blue and artist's mark made by other hand. Dimensions: h. 12 cm each. Heidi Manthey 1929 Leipzig 1946-49 Studied painting and graphics in Leipzig with Walther Münze and Max Schwimmer. 1949-52 studied ceramics in Halle/Burg Giebichenstein. After 1956 collaboration with Hedwig Bollhagen in Marwitz. Lectureships at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee from 1975-80 and at Burg Giebichenstein from 1980-97.
