Cup in the shape of a crater vase with a saucer. Probably Thuringia. 1st half of the 19th century. Porcelain, glazed, richly decorated with gold and gold etching and partially painted with dark green onglaze colour. Cup in the shape of a crater vase with two mascaron appliqués on the sides. The sides of the vessel are painted with two musical geniuses on a dark green background, between them instruments etched in gold. The flag of the saucer is fielded in three golden landscape paintings on dark green background, in between more gold etched instruments. Vessel and saucer with a surrounding plastic spherical frieze. Unmarked. The gilding in the area of the lip of the vessel and the foot as well as on the mirror of the saucer partially rubbed. Isolated scratch marks, but inconspicuous overall. Two missing beads on the saucer. Isolated glaze and mass irregularities from the manufacturing process. Dimensions: cup h. 11 cm, saucer d. 15,5 cm.
