Titled in pencil on the lower part and one sheet extensively dated "11/7/80". In a passepartout, there on an adhesive label referred to the "Sammlung Strähnz" (Leipzig). "Niedergrund" clearly foxed. Minimally yellowed. Dimensions: 20.5 x 27 cm, Psp. 30 x 42 cm. Ernst Erwin Oehme 1831 Dresden - 1907 ibid. Son of the court painter Ernst Ferdinand Oehme. 1846 Start of studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in Dresden. From 1849 studio work with Ludwig Richter, with whom Oehme had a lifelong friendship. 1861 Founds a private school for young ladies. In 1864 Oehme became an honorary member of the Dresden academy of arts and in 1887 was appointed professor for free landscape drawing and painterly representation at the Royal Saxon Polytechnic, later to become the Technical University. Oehme produced watercolors, oil paintings, but also architectural murals, such as in the Second Dresden Court Theater.
