The spine with title, decorative lines and decorative bands in gold embossing. Book covers with marbled paper covers and set-off leather corners. The book cover clearly rubbed, missing parts in the paper cover as well as the corners bumped. Paper partly browned and foxed and with waterstains. Some of the first pages detached from the binding. The first pages with horizontal centerfold. Dimensions: 26 x 17 x 6,5 cm. Christian Gottlieb Lorek 1788 Conitz - 1871 Königsberg Draughtsman, engraver and philologist. 1812 doctorate. Occupation with mathematics and natural sciences, gave lessons in drawing and learned copper engraving. Lorek was a grammar school teacher, vice-principal and vice-principal at the Königsberg castle school, and is known for the collections of copper engravings of the flora and fauna of Prussia which he engraved and published himself. His botanical author code is "Lorek". His copper engraving collection "Flora Prussica" appeared in three editions.
