Signed "VEIT HOFMANN" in grey paint on the verso of the hardboard, titled and dated below and numbered "KatNr.: 2311". On the reverse side glued-on wooden strips for mounting in the frame. Framed in a light grey wooden moulding with bevelled profile and shadow gap. At each of three corners a small paint layer flaw. Verso somewhat atelier-marked. Dimensions: 49.9 x 39.7 cm, overall 65.7 x 55.5 cm. Veit Hofmann 1944 Dresden 1960-67 Apprenticeship and work as a printer. Is influenced in his early works by the artists H. Schmidt-Kirstein, W. Lachnit, M. Lachnit, H. Glöckner and H. Jüchser. 1967-72 studies at the academy of arts in Dresden, among others with Gerhard Kettner and H. Kunze. Since then works as a freelance artist. Study trips to the SU, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary. 1974 co-founder of the Galerie Nord. Since 1985 studio apartment in the Künstlerhaus in Dresden-Loschwitz. 1988 invention of telephone art for the former GDR together with Otto Sander-Tischbein. 1994 Study visit with scholarship in the USA. Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. 2015 Installation "Anemophile" at the Städtische Galerie Dresden.
