Painted reddish brown on the reverse, with brush and comb structures, dated by the artist's hand on the lower right probably later "presumably 1957" and with the estate number "2159" by another hand on the lower left. Mounted on backing paper at the upper margin. A tiny loss in the paper at upper right and at lower right corner (each c. 1 x 3 mm), a small tear with loss at the left margin mi. and two small tears at the lower margin mi. (each c. 1 cm). Paper at lower margin r. somewhat wavy. Within the image a few pinholes as well as a tear backed by the artist at the lower right side. On the upper right a small paper rectangle (inherent to the work). At the lower right corner paper residues, possibly from the work process. Dimensions: 39,6 x 26,4 cm, sub. 55 x 39 cm. From 1909 freelance artist. 1915-18 war service. 1923 admission to the Dresden Art Academy with Otto Gußmann. Since 1926 regular exhibitions. Due to the beginning of the war, he increasingly works on buildings. After 1945 occupation with free abstraction, trying out different printing techniques. Since 1959 also sculptural works.
