From 1927 he worked as a freelance artist in Dresden. Christoph had close contact to the group "1919" a. was member of the "Dresden Secession" since 1929. From 1949-55 lecturer at the academy of arts in Dresden. 1991 first extensive museum exhibition on the occasion of his 90th birthday in the Brandenburg Art Collections Cottbus. 2001 memorial exhibition on the occasion of his 100th birthday in the Städtische Galerie Dresden and "galerie am blauen wunder".
