The canvas partially minimally raised, partly with horizontal cracks and early shrinkage craquelure (more obvious in the shoulder area). Few small losses of painting layer, retouched. Small nail holes at the cover edges, probably minimally reduced in size. Painting medium penetrated on verso. Dimensions: 88,5 x 99,5 cm. Pupil of Carl Bantzer and Gotthardt Kuehl at the academy of arts in Dresden. Already in 1909 and 1911 he was awarded the Small Golden Medal. In 1912 he received a scholarship for a study visit to Italy. 1917 Marriage to Ille Wilberg from Bremen. 1920 birth of daughter Illa. In 1920 the Sächsischer Kunstverein Dresden dedicated a large memorial exhibition to the artist, who died early in the same year. His works were shown alongside those of Liebermann, Slevogt, Corinth, Balach, Kollwitz and Kokoschka.
