Small retouchings in the centre of the picture on the right and in the area of the trees on the left. Occasional shiny binder stains. Frame with missing part u.mi. and at the upper left corner. Theophil Heinke 1876 Oberneukirch / Neukirch am Hochwald - 1913 Dresden-Pillnitz German landscape painter. 1898-1905 pupil of the Dresden academy under Leon Pohle, Friedrich Preller and Eugen Bracht. Lived for a longer time in Papperitz near Dresden. Despite numerous larger journeys at home and abroad he remained the painter of the Dresden Elbe area. Most of his works are in private collections in England, on the Rhine as well as in Dresden and surroundings. In the New Town Hall in Dresden there is a large, three-part oil painting "View of Pillnitz and the Elbe Grounds" from 1907.
