Horst Bernhard Hacker 1842 Leipzig - 1906 Munich First attendance of a cadet school, afterwards officer in the Saxon light cavalry regiment at Großenhain. 1861 he moved to Munich and from 1862 he studied at the academy of arts in Munich as a pupil of Richard Zimmermann and Adolf Lier. As a landscape painter, mainly of alpine motifs, Hacker made numerous trips to Italy, Austria, Bavaria and Switzerland. Exhibitions in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen and Vienna. Various awards for exhibitions, among others in London and Prague, as well as Grand Prix at the World Exhibition 1900 in Paris. Member of the Munich Artists' Association and the Munich Free Artists' Association.
