South German painter (?), Crucifixion of Christ. 1st half 18th c. Oil on canvas. Unsigned. Verso on the stretcher o.mi. in blue crayon locally(?) inscribed "Ramsthal". In a splendid, high-oval, gilded frame with a fitting-like decorative band and pearl bar on the inside. With a crown of individually attachable carved roses. Backedand mounted on canvas. Image format somewhat reduced (painted margins). Deformations of the canvas in the margins due to the stretching frame. Marked age craquelure and slight climatic edge. Several retouchings along the craquelure, larger ones in the sky, at the right edge of the picture in the blue coat and in the face of Jesus. Smaller missing parts along the edges of the picture. Newly gilded frame, with a few loosenings of the frame, partially rubbed. Ra. without fold deepening, covering approx. 3 cm of the picture margin, mouldings warped. Dimensions: 162,7 x 95,5 cm, overall 180 x 107 cm.
