Boccale Probabilmente Faenza, XIV secolo ,
Majolica decorated in monochrome cobalt blue. Height 19.3 cm. Conservation: broken in several fragments and reassembled during restoration; extensive additions. Ovoid body mug, with trilobed mouth and ribbon handle, in archaic majolica, covered with poor tin glaze. This decoration, called "a zaffera in relief", is drawn in manganese brown and coloured in dark blue monochrome. There are three decorative motifs: a sequence of buttons on the neck, a band of double pearls on the shoulder and, at the bottom, stylised oak leaves.
