The riser, which has a decorative motif with umbilicate and pods, mirrors that of the dish in the Capodimonte Museum in Naples (formerly the Mario de Ciccio Collection). In the cavetto, at the centre of the umbilicate, is a circular reserve with a rosette motif on a white background surrounded by blue pods resting on a turquoise background. The wide brim is decorated with white pods highlighted in gold, surrounded by a blue border decorated with gold motifs.
