Description
Two blue and white underglaze porcelain rectangular tabletop screen bricks, China, 19th century- One decorated on one side with houses and a bridge in a tree-lined lakescape surrounded by mountains and rocks flown over by birds; on the reverse, three figures, a bridge and pavilions on stilts in a tree-lined lakescape - The other is decorated on one side with a figure in a sampan surrounded by mountains, trees and pavilions; on the reverse, a pavilion nestled in the mountains, a bridge over a body of water and birds in flight. Each plate shows six rectangular openings in its thickness that allowed for the attachment of the wooden frame. H 17 x W 26.5 x D 4.3 cm and H 20.4 x W 27 x D 4.4 cm . Small crack at the level of the holes intended for the fixing of the plates.
