Dedicated to Mr. de Coniac by his respectful son Aimé Philogène de Coniac (Handwritten map). July 1st, year 1800. Nice col. of the period. Large handwritten panorama on laid paper in 3 attached leaves. Small paper loss at bottom left affecting the first sheet (summarily restored), without affecting the layout, last sheet soiled on the right for 5 cm. Pen, ink and watercolour. Indication in pen on verso: "Navigation de la Vilaine par mon père". 540 x 2180 mm. Magnificent and spectacular manuscript panorama of the course of the Vilaine from Rennes to Redon, made by Aimé Philogène de Coniac and dedicated to his father Pélage de Coniac. This route represents the navigation of the Vilaine by his father. It shows the planned deviations of the Vilaine's course, of which there are 11, as well as the number of locks planned. Pélage de Coniac was Seneschal of Brittany and Commissioner of the States of Brittany for Navigation. This panorama was photographed and exhibited at the Ecomuseum of Rennes in 2018/2019.
