FER, N. de. (Coasts of Brittany). Paris, 1695. Black and white. 12 maps including 2 col. + title page. 239 x 328 mm. Set of 12 maps of the coasts of Brittany taken from Nicolas de Fer's "Atlas des Forces de l'Europe", of which Pierre Mortier made a counterfeit to which he added a to which he added an atlas of 43 plates entitled Les Costes de France et d'Espagne, sur l'Océan et sur la mer méditerranée, dédiées à Monseigneur le Dauphin... Several editions, including those of 1695, 1700, 1702 and 1705. Let us not forget that icolas de Fer had just re-edited, in 1690, "Les Costes de France", according to Tassin, by adding the capitai the capitai neries, except for Brittany. Four states of pagination have been observed according to the editions: - in the lower right inner corner, an engraved capital letter ; - The previous letter is eliminated in favour of a handwritten inscription outside the frame, followed by a lower case letter, not corresponding to the capital letters of the previous state Finally, two other paginations with lower-case letters that are difficult to identify.
