Description
Ottoman pistol Ottoman world, 18th-19th century. Length: 50 cm. The stock and the lower part of the barrel of this pistol are entirely covered with gilded copper plates, with a rich chased decoration of vegetal motifs (flowers and bouquets, leaves and palmettes) and trophies of arms. The miquelet system and the steel barrel are also finely engraved with vegetal motifs. The globular end of the stock allows a good grip, but could also be used as a club when the gun was unloaded.
