Hunting dagger France, Paris, First half of the 18th century Length : 71 cm The handle of this beautiful dagger is composed of two ivory plates decorated on each side, with shells in the lower part and portraits of a sultana and a sultan in medallions. The guard and mounts are made of silver with embossed and engraved decoration of scrolls, medallions, and friezes of stylized leaves. They bear discharge marks for small items from the years 1738-1744. The single-edged steel blade is finely engraved on both sides with vegetal motifs, a sun, a figure and trophies of arms. Pre-convention ivory specimen. Conforms to the EC regulation 338-97 Art.2.w.mc of December 9, 1996. Specimen prior to 1st June 1947. Subject according to the decree of May 4, 2017 to a prior declaration "are authorized, subject to the prior declaration provided for in Article L. 412-1 of the Environmental Code.
