Gold, ruby and emerald pendant India, 18th-19th century Height: 4.4 cm This finely engraved gold pendant depicts Sarasvati playing the vina and flanked by a peacock, holding in two of her four hands her attri- buts, a mala and a book. A mandorla, probably later and inlaid with rubies, frames the deity, topped by a flowerette adorned with rubies and an emerald.
