In-12 of [2]-15-[1]-210 pages, half blond calf, spine very ornate, untrimmed (Lebrun). Only edition of this facetious work on beards, with a frontispiece showing a madman shaping a head with a marotte. The author talks about fashion, bearded and shaved chins, bearded women, that long beards are healthy, postichos or golden beards, moustaches, people who wear beards... A well-bound copy by Lebrun, a student of Simier, active in Paris from 1830 to 1857. Some foxing. (Barbier III, 936).
