CAILLEAU (André-Charles). PRIVATE AND CRIMINAL LIFE OF ANTOINE-FRANÇOIS DESRUES. Avignon and Paris, Cailleau, 1767. In-8 of 128 pages (out of 130), half basane racine (early XX° binding). The grocer Desrues, accused of abominable manoeuvres and atrocious crimes, had enriched himself by skulduggery and poisoned the wife and son of his creditor. He was burned alive in 1777 in the Place de Grève, and his bones were sold to the highest bidder! Copy without the portrait and the figures that could be found separately.
