BERNHARD HOETGER (1874-1949) Thoughtful young Parisian woman, Paris, 1902-04 Sculpture. Proof in white bronze with double patina; the face gilded, the garment brown with green shades. Early 20th century edition cast, most likely from La Maison Moderne directed by Julius Meier-Graefe. Signed, located and dated B. HOETGER Paris 19(??) towards the base. 29 x 26 x 25 cm To be noted : Like some of the works from Bernhard Hoetger's Paris period, this sculpture model is not listed in the works about the artist. To date, we have only been able to find one public sale of our sculpture model; the proof bore the stamp of Eugène Blot, foundryman, and was presented on November 22, 1997 under number 947 in the catalogue of the Lempertz auction house in Cologne (Germany).
