Henry SPICER (Britannique, 1743-1804)

Portrait of Louisa Holroyd (1777-1854) aged 6 years. Oval miniature painted on enamel, monogrammed lower right "S", representing her in a bust, almost full face, in child's clothing. Very good condition. In a gold oval frame to hang, engraved "Louisa Holroyd aged 6 years 1783", with on the back her braided hair and a handwritten label "Louisa Clinton". H : 5 - W : 4,2 cm - Gross weight : 37,0 g History : Miss Louisa Dorothea Holroyd was the second daughter of John Baker Holroyd, 1st Earl of Sheffield (1735-1821), and was married to the lieutenant-general Sir William Henry Clinton (1769-1846)
