Portrait of a man, 1787. Beautiful oval miniature painted on ivory, signed and dated lower left "Rouvier 1787". (not very legible), representing a man in a wig on a grey background, wearing a white shirt and a mustard waistcoat, encircled with metal. Traces of glue on the edge. H : 5,8 - W : 4,5 cm History : Rouvier's miniatures are rare on the market, especially dating from the late 1780s, although the artist is represented in most of the major museum collections: Louvre, MET, Cincinnati, Arenenberg, Lausanne, Winterthur, Tansey coll.
