Jean-Baptiste ISABEY (Nancy, 1767 - Paris, 1855)

Portrait of King Louis XVIII, 1814. Oval miniature painted on ivory, signed and dated on the right "Isabey 1814", representing him in three-quarter bust on the right, wearing his decorations, gold circled with chased decoration of foliage on an amati background (probably intended for a snuffbox). It is one of the rare miniatures of 1814 made by Isabey and his workshop following the accession to the throne of King Louis XVIII.
