Lot and his daughters and Joseph and Putiphar's wife.
Pair of rectangular miniatures painted with gouache on paper representing two scenes from the Book of Genesis: the first one featuring Lot's daughters intoxicating their father before sleeping with him to preserve their race, signed lower left "CARESME JP.", the second one unsigned featuring Jacob's young son Joseph, refusing the advances of his master's wife Putiphar, adorned with pearls. Good condition. Mid 18th century.
Preserved in gilt bronze hanging frames decorated with shells at the corners.
