LE POT À LAIT DU MARÉCHAL NEY
Rare fine black earthenware milk jug, the outside matte imitating Wedgwood's "black basalt" with gadrooned decoration, enhanced with neoclassical motifs painted in gold, surrounding in the center the number N under a star of Marshal Ney, the inside glazed. A crack.
Manufacture de faïence fine de Creil (founded in 1797), Empire period, circa 1805.
Marked on the reverse "CREIL".
