Dimensions : 100x81 cm. Painted in 1934 for the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Quebec in 1534. With a chronological frieze at the bottom of the painting celebrating the French explorers and colonizers of the Americas (Jacques Cartier, Jean de Bethencourt, Ango, Nicolas Durand de Villegagnon, Samuel de Champlain,...).
