Small in-8, soft vellum, gilt border, coat of arms in the centre, traces of laces, smooth spine decorated with gilt small irons with the title written in pen, gilt edges (Italian binding of the time).
ELEGANT GILDED VELIN BINDING WITH THE ARMS OF CARDINAL FRANCESCO BONCOMPAGNI (1592-1641), to whom the work is dedicated.
A member of a powerful patrician family, son of the great bibliophile Giacomo Boncompagni, Duke of Sora, the cardinal was promoted to archbishop of Naples in 1626.
The wet stamp of this ecclesiastic is affixed on the title.
