Omnia emblemata. Paris, Jean Richer, s.d. [1601]. Large volume in-8, granite calf, spine decorated, red speckled edges (17th century binding). Landwehr, Romanic emblem books, n°90. New edition of this famous collection of emblems, with an architectural title-frontispiece with a medallion portrait of the author, and about 211 woodcuts in the text. Repeated handwritten bookplate: Jacobus Daufresne 1709. Bookplate of Dr. P.-A. Créhange. Hole with loss of some letters on leaf D1, some leaves trimmed with occasional damage to running title and pagination number. Leaves Nn2 and Nn7 shorter. The figure in the engraving on p. 913, partly engraved, has been finished in pen. Lacking at the headpieces.
