Introductionis ad symbolum fidei libri quatuor. Cologne, Gervinus Calenius and the heirs of Johann Quentell, 1588. In-4, brown calf stamped on aisle, fillets and roulette, on the first plate a large oval medallion containing a crucifixion, surrounded by stylized fleurons, spandrels charged with a portrait of an angel, title in capitals on a line SYMBOLICUM GRANATEN, second plate adorned with a repeated roulette decorated with portraits of the evangelists, remnants of clasps, spine with nerves, blue edges (Binding of the time). Catechism manual written by the Spanish Dominican and preacher Louis de Granada (1504-1588). REMARKABLE GILT-STAMPED GERMAN BINDING OF THE PERIOD. It is decorated on the first board with a crucifixion with this biblical quotation : Christus factus est pro nobis obediens usque ad mortem mortem autem crucis. The repeated scroll on the second board shows the bust portraits of the evangelists, which are also accompanied by biblical quotations. Old handwritten bookplate on the title. Small loss at the top cap.
