New edition of this famous work which is THE GREATEST CLASSIC OF RURAL ECONOMY OF THE XVIE SIECLE. It was first published in Latin in 1554 under the title Praedium rusticum and translated into French in 1564. Several chapters deal with hunting and fishing, and gastronomy (jams, pastries, wines, vinegar, mustard, etc.). The text contains numerous woodcuts representing animals, plants, distillation instruments, garden plans, etc. The treatise on wolf hunting is in separate pagination with a special title page. Published in 1566, it was included in all editions of Agriculture from 1567. This 1583 Lyon edition (cf. Baudrier, t. I, p. 367) is decorated with a dozen woodcuts in the text showing hunting scenes and traps. Small wetness on some leaves, hole and worm gallery in the margin of the first 6 quires. Rubbed title page.
